Google adds Lexus RX450h hybrid to their fleet of driverless cars

Google Driverless Car
Google has been conducting ongoing tests for self driving cars on public streets and have recently added a new black beauty to their fleet. This time round it is a black Lexus RX450h hybrid SUV that will be seen with a new roof mounted sensor. Google worked under the guidance of Dr. Sebastian Thrun, Director of Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory along with a Google engineer who was instrumental in the invention of Street View mapping services.
The Lexus RX450h is not the first such self driving vehicle and will certainly not be the last in the line of experiments being carried out by Google to bring in more such self driving vehicles on the streets. This vehicle was seen on test on the streets in Southern California.
Google Driverless Cars is a project being conducted by Google that aims at developing technology for driverless cars. Thrun and Google Street View team at Stanford created the robotic vehicle named Stanley, which went on to win the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge and a prize of $2 million from US Department of Defence.
